So there I was, standing over the body of a man that shouldn't exist.

How did it come to this? Yesterday was the craziest day of my life, and the day before? Well that was just a tuesday. Well it was until she walked in and everything changed.

Map of the World

Noirland

Noirland is a world not unlike our own, although the land masses, nations and customs are different.

Their technology is analogous to our own somewhere between the years of 1910 and 1950. It's currently the year 1913 CCA, 30 years after "The Mother War", the first industrial-era global conflict.

Landstrea is simular to our United States, although it's inhabited by it's own native population rather than from conquest. Tzanpalan is not unlike the United Kingdom, Muland is similar to Asia and Manastyan, Amoria and Tepai are a cross between what we know as Africa and South America.

It's a world full of mystery and intregue, designed to host film noir inspired stories without a players real-world knowledge of history influencing their perception of the world.

A Dirty World

Noirland is designed for use within the "A Dirty World" role-playing game system, written by Greg Stolze.

A Dirty World uses a one-roll system, and the particulars of an individual are denoted by their Identities and Qualities. Unlike a more traditional system, these values fluctuate scene by scene and session by session as charaters are influenced by their actions and the actions of others.

There are various house rules to better fit the setting to the source, but generally the world of Noirland is designed with A Dirty World in mind, so most things are as they appear. You can find a copy of the character sheet and a link to the source book in the Resources menu in the top right.
